Blog Break - Just a Short One!

As I look over my to-do list, I realize I am a tad-bit overwhelmed this month (with graduation and all of the events that go along with it). And so, I've decided to take a short break from blog posts for the remainder of May.

I will be back full-force June 1st with informative new posts on the topic of writing. So mark your calendar and come on back!

Quote for Inspiration

"... create heroes who: Offer the most conflict in that situation, have the longest way to go emotionally, and are the most demographically pleasing." -- Blake Snyder (SAVE THE CAT)

What do you think about that?

So Many Events, So Little Time

Last night, my son Mitchell was honored at the district school board meeting. Only three kids from his high school were honored! Nicely done, son! They recognized him for several things, but mostly for ranking #4 in the nation for PC Troubleshooting & Repair.

Tonight, my daughter was inducted into the National Honor Society.

Next week there are three more evenings filled with honors and awards.

The week after has two graduation parties and the actual HS graduation ceremony.

This month is crazy. And those events are only some of the school related activities. And that still doesn't include any of my other personal, church, and business obligations.

Holy Smokes.

I need my rest.

Graduating Seniors: Jacob

I have two graduating high school seniors! YIKES. This month is so crazy already, and it's only the first week.

I thought you might enjoy seeing the announcements I made for my boys (it printed front & back 5x7 postcard style). Today, I'll share Jacob's (my seventeen-year-old), and Monday, I'll share Mitchell's (my eighteen-year-old). Yes, they're nearly twins at just 11 months apart! Jacob skipped a grade in school, and so that's why they are graduating together.

May Day - Teenager Style

I thought April 1st was the day for practical jokes ... but my seventeen-year-old son thought May 1st would be a great day, too.

He's been enjoying his Spanish class this year, and likes the word MAYO. He thought it would be a funny way to honor the first day of MAYO with a jar of Mayo.

He emptied and washed out a jar of Mayonnaise, filled it with vanilla pudding, and took it to school. He ate from it all day telling people he was celebrating the first day of MAYO with a jar of Mayo.

Did I mention this smart kid of mine has been named as one of the Valedictorians? haha.
